Okay, so if you've been following me as of late, you're probably wondering whether or not this "Ursula Mayes" is also Lao or Thai after having checked out Amy Chanthaphavong: Miss Asian America 2009, Alexandra Bounxouei: The Lao Princess of Pop, Kay Sivilay and Import Tuner Magazine Model. Unfortunately, the answer is no, as she is half Korean and half German/Native American (quite a mix if you ask me). I guess you could say that I'm expanding my horizons and for Pete's sake, just look at her! She is by far among the most beautiful women in the world. I mean, just ask People Magazine and they'll tell you the same, as she made their Top 100 in 2008. And if you are indeed an avid reader of Import Tuner magazine, then she's no stranger to you, as she is the official spokesmodel for their Hot Import Nights segment in addition to being Deal or No Deal's mainstay Suitcase #5 model. After having seen her in an article about Import Tuner's exclusive event, Hot Import Nights, I couldn't pass up learning more about her.
Bio of Ursula Mayes
Born on August 9th, 1979, at a military base in Seoul, South Korea, Ursula Yvonne Mayes traveled frequently as an army brat. Some of the many places she visited included Puerto Rico and North Carolina until she was finally able to settle with her family in the Washington, DC area where she would consequently spend the rest of her childhood. She would later move on to Fairfax, Virginia. Her mischievous nature could well be attributed to her having five brothers who influenced her in both positive and negative ways (for example, they taught her.how to hot-wire a car). On a positive note, she credits them for her interest in rock music, boxing, motor sports, and martial arts. Her early years saw her in and out of trouble and so so keep herself out of trouble, she would go to work for her aunt who as a photographer; Ursula assisted her by doing hair and make-up behind the camera. Her aunt, while Ursula worked alongside her at her studio, encouraged her begin modeling. Her exotic looks can be credited to her mother, who is Korean and her father who is German/Native American.
Deal or No Deal Makes a Deal with Ursula
While growing up, Ursula then garnered an interest in fashion, poetry, and make up, and in December of 2004, she was selected as a Maxim Hometown Hottie and would consequently finish third as a finalist. The break she was looking for to become a professional model had finally arrived.
What started out as a temporary role as the suitcase #5 model in Season One (2005-2006) of the world's most popular TV game show Deal or No Deal (Ursula substituted for Kristal Marshall) would turn out to be a permanent one for her. Until this day, Ursula remains model #5 on Deal or No Deal.
Ursula Goes Global
Ursula Mayes has appeared on many magazines covers in a relatively short amount of time and her stock is still on the rise. Some of the magazines in which she is the featured model includes Maxim, Stuff, Muscles and Fitness, OC Health, Karma, People Magazine's 100 Most Beautiful People Issue, Modified Magazine, and Import Tuner. In total, Ursula has contributed her modeling prowess to nearly 30 companies worldwide and the number continues to grow. In addition to this, she is also the spokesmodel for Hot Import Nights which is a automotive touring event that is sponsored by Import Tuner magazine. No the show is not overly boring, but honestly I just prefer games shows like Jeopardy.
