Oh My God is Right...
The first time I saw Karouna "Kay" Sivilay featured in Import Tuner Magazine, I thought I was in love. Looking back now, I don't think that it was love, but something very much like it, ha ha. For the first time in recent memory, I found a Thai/Lao model that made it to the front cover of a reputable commercial interest magazine, so I certainly didn't want to miss out on learning about her, as she just happened to grace the cover of the magazine that I couldn't run to the Barnes and Noble's counter to buy fast enough and my instant infatuation with her was all because I wanted to learn how to properly soup up my 1989 Honda Prelude Si (see newly listed Classic Cars and Ricer Predecessors). Safe to say, my Japanese baby is still in the process of being restored. As soon as I get her in tip-top condition, I'll write a Hub about it! So in the meantime, sit back, relax, and get to know Kay Sivilay. Please enjoy (and please, for the love of Maria, don't tell Rayna H. Hurman about it).
What Wikipedia Says About Kay Sivilay
Kay Sivilay (born June 12, 1980) is a model of predominantly Lao, with some Thai, Chinese, and French descent. She is also famous for her appearances in import car magazines, and more recently in Playboy. As a result of her marriage in 2006, she is retired from the modeling profession and her website is no longer active.
Sivilay came from the Los Angeles Area in Southern California. She last attended Nathaniel Narbonne High School and was part of the graduating class of 1997.
Okay (that's a pun by the way) there seems to be some confusion as to when Kay Sivilay was born, as Wikepedia claims (which isn't always a reliable source, especially in this case, when nothing is cited about the article in question) that she was born on June 12, 1980, whereas the description of her below, which I found on Import Tuner Magazine claims she was born on April 26, 1979 (which would make her a Taurus like me). So, with that said, I'm going to go with Import Tuner Magazine's claim, as they had in fact interviewed her in person. It' s also important to note that she was born in Nongkai, Thailand and that for the most part is predominantly Lao rather than Thai.

How Kay Sivilay Got Her Start
In an interview with ktown213.com, Kay Sivilay stated that, "modeling wasn't a life-long dream" and that when a photographer suggested that she get into modeling, she gave it a shot. What followed were a few photo sessions in which produced many pictures (some which were nude) which she then sent to Playboy. To her surprise, they were accepted and so began (in June of 2003) the modeling career of Kay Sivilay. She became a Playboy Cybergirl for the Fifth Week of June 2003.

Kay's Career As A Model
After having been featured as a Playboy Cybergirl, Kay was then asked to be included in their Special Editions, which she happily accepted. Such publications included, "Book of Lingerie,""Exotic Beauties," and "Nudes." She claims that she wasn't nude in such pictorials, as most of the photos depicted her in lingerie wearing jewelry. On the topic of posing nude and modeling for Playboy, Kay stated the following:
"I don't have a problem being nude just as long as it's classy. Plus I'm a fan and a subscriber AND an admirer of Playboy..."
After having appeared as a Playboy Cybergirl, Kay quickly rose to stardom as she was then invited to be featured in Import Tuner Magazine. She would then go on to attend UCLA. As of 2006, she's retired from modeling due to personal obligations which included marrying her best friend of many years. She plans to have three children and pursue a career in Public Relations. Since making these changes in her life, she has since "closed her shop" which was kaysivilay.com--the remaining photos of which I was able to salvage.
